My heart is full of gratitude for the abundant amount of blessings and experiences I have received at HFC Bambalapitiya. It is because of my unconditional gratitude for this school that I started this Association in the UK, so that we may help our school while continuing to enjoy comradeship with our colleagues from HFC Bambalapitiya. For some years past, I have been possessed with a desire, which has lately become very strong to form an association with the past pupils of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya. Thanks to the support of my classmates, senior batch mates and teachers, I was able to start the Holy Family Convent Alumni society in the UK and I am very proud to report on our successful membership.
I am very grateful to the past president Mrs Sutha of the HFC Bambalapitiya PPA in Sri Lanka and our past principal Rev. Sister Deepa Fernando, for their blessings and support when we began this journey. I would also like to thank our principle Rev. Sister Chandani Jeyasuriya and the HFC PPA in Sri Lanka for their ongoing support to our association.
Education at HFC Bambalapitiya was a harmonious blend of discipline, academia, arts, sports, creativity, and learning in the light of Catholicism. What we learned at HFC Bambalapitiya has made a difference in each one of us when we succeed in our own way. Our school’s vision is to light up the world with women of virtue and wisdom and it has clearly succeeded.
We hope to use this branch to support our school in educating and nurturing future generations of bright young women. Our branch expects to be self funded and we aim to support many charitable causes in addition to helping our Alma Mater in the future. I hope all of you will continue to encourage more HFC past students to join our association, to become a strong alumni networking group in the UK.
